Lisa Darcy
Lisa Darcy - Bio
Lisa’s passion is for writing fiction about women in their thirties and forties navigating friendships, careers, romance and ultimately triumphing over adversity.
With several previously published novels under her alter ego, Lisa’s seventh novel, Lily’s Little Flower Shop was published by Bloodhound Books UK in May 2021, and since published in France as L’adorable boutique de fleurs de Lily. In Italy as Il piccolo negozio di Fiori di and as an audiobook in English. Her My Big Greek Holiday was published in paperback by Bloodhound Books UK in August 2021, also available as an audiobook. Lisa’s Should You Keep A Secret? Was published by Bloodhound Books UK in April 2022.
A creative writing teacher, Lisa also presents workshops, has been on panels at RWA conferences, GenreCon, Sydney Writers’ Festival and many regional writers’ festivals, including the inaugural Berry Writers’ Festival, 2022.
What resonates with her readers is whether navigating family dynamics, friendships, careers, or romance, ultimately the women in Lisa’s books triumph over adversity.
‘I like writing stories that balance elements of drama and comedy – dramedy. A common thread throughout my novels is women finding the strength to move forward when faced with challenging circumstances. These characters deal with real-life circumstances such as divorce, betrayal, heartache, and addiction, with behaviours that are unpredictable, messy, flawed, and generally lead to more chaos with a sprinkling of humour. Hopefully readers recognise a little of themselves in the way these relatable characters ultimately reinvent themselves for a more promising and fulfilling future,’ Lisa said.
